New Delhi, 01 August: The no-confidence motion presented by the opposition coalition in the Lok Sabha will be discussed between August 8 and 10. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reply to the discussion on Thursday, 10 August.
This decision was taken in the Business Advisory Committee chaired by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. According to sources, the opposition demanded that the no-confidence motion be discussed first, but the government remained adamant on giving priority to the Bills.
Later, the opposition staged a walkout from the committee meeting.
The opposition is creating ruckus in both the Houses of the Parliament demanding a detailed discussion on the Manipur issue. Due to this, the proceedings of both the Houses are being disrupted. The opposition wants the Prime Minister himself to give a statement on this in the House.
Meanwhile, as part of the strategy, the opposition has brought a no-confidence motion. The government has a sufficient majority in the Lok Sabha.
