No paperwork, ID card required to exchange ₹2k currency notes: SBI

New Delhi, 21 May: To exchange their ₹2000 currency notes, State Bank of India (SBI) clients would not be needed to produce any ID cards or fill out any request forms.

According to a statement issued by SBI with all of its circles, people will be permitted to exchange a maximum of 10 currency notes of ₹2000 at a time.

The SBI further emphasised in its contact with all circles that it’s May 19 Annexure III – a request slip with separate columns for information of the customer’s identity verification – is now withdrawn with immediate effect.

“Please arrange accordingly and extend all cooperation to members of the public so that the exercise is conducted in a smooth and seamless manner without causing any inconvenience to the public,” SBI stated in its message.
