Lucknow, July 30: South India has so far been known as the hub of Information Technology (IT) sector in the country, but in the coming time Noida (Gautam Buddha Nagar) of Uttar Pradesh will be counted as the biggest IT hub of the country.

A government spokesperson said that this is an indication of multinational companies (MNCs) like Microsoft, Adani Group and MAQ buying land to set up data centers in Noida. Apart from these three companies, HCL, Google and TCS have already spread their feet in Noida. While Hiranandani Group, Netmagic Services, STT Pvt Ltd and Agarwal Associate Ltd are also in touch with the government to set up data centres.

He said that these companies, which are investing in the field of data center and software technology in the state, are setting up their enterprises in the state only with the efforts of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Till four years ago, these famous companies of IT sector were not ready to come to Uttar Pradesh.

Due to the concessions given under the Uttar Pradesh Electronics Manufacturing Policy-2017, 30 big investors showed interest in investing 20 thousand crore rupees in the IT sector. Considering the increasing interest of investors in the IT sector, the Chief Minister decided to declare Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Express areas located in the National Capital Region as “Electronics Manufacturing Zones” to promote electronics investment in the state.

He further told that with this decision of the government, many reputed companies of China, Taiwan and Korea came forward to set up their units in UP. Last year Microsoft, Adani Group, MAQ, Hiranandani Group, Netmagic Services, STT Pvt Ltd and Agarwal Associate Ltd also took the initiative to invest in UP.

Acting on the investment proposals of these companies, the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) allotted 60 thousand square meters to Microsoft in Sector 145. Microsoft’s software park and data center will soon be set up on this land by investing Rs 1800 crore. More than 3500 people will get employment in this project. With the arrival of Microsoft, the entire NCR including Noida will develop into a software hub.

According to an official spokesperson, the Noida Authority has allotted a plot of 34,275 square meters to Adani Group at prime location in Sector-62 of the city and 39,146 square meters to Adani Enterprises in Sector-80 of Noida. The company will set up a world class data center on this plot. Adani Group will invest Rs 2,500 crore on this project. The project will provide employment to 2,350 persons.

Apart from this, Noida Authority has allotted a large plot of 16,350 square meters to MAQ India Pvt Ltd. MAQ is one of the world’s leading IT and ITeS companies. The company will set up an IT project on this plot and invest Rs 250 crore. MAQ has been allotted plot in Sector-145.

He said that soon Hiranandani Group, who wants to set up a data center, will soon invest Rs 6000 crore, SS Telemedia, who wants to set up a data center at a cost of Rs 900 crore, will invest Rs 1500 crore for setting up a data center. STT Private Limited and Agarwal Associate Limited along with interested Netmagic Services will also be provided land for setting up the data centre.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also instructed the officers in the meeting of Team-9 to extend all possible help to the investors who are taking investment initiatives in the field of data center and software etc. in Noida. It is this activism of CM that is bringing multinational companies to UP in the IT sector in the state and due to these companies, in a few years, UP will become the biggest hub of the country in the IT sector.
