Dehradun, September 12: Now, children of Madrassas in Uttarakhand will also be able to learn Sanskrit. That means Sanskrit education will be given in 117 madrassas of the state. This information was given by Uttarakhand Waqf Board Chairman Shadab Shams on Tuesday.

Waqf Board Chairman Shadab told us today that they are going to implement the NCERT curriculum in madrassas. It also includes the teaching of Sanskrit along with other subjects.

He said that Uttarakhand is a land of gods; if Sanskrit is not taught here, then where will it be taught? Now people in the Muslim community also want change. They are also happy with the upgrading of madrasas. He said that Razia Sultana, a Muslim girl, has a PhD in Sanskrit. Razia is translating the Quran into Sanskrit. Razia will be included as a member of the state-level education committee of the Waqf Board.

He said that the madrassas registered with the board are being modernized. Along with smart classes and modern education, children will also be provided tablets and computers. In this sequence, modern education is being started in four madrassas in four districts of Uttarakhand. The committee of Hifjul Quran Kunjagrant, a Madrasa registered with the Waqf Board, proposed to include itself in the Modern Madrasa, which has been approved by the Waqf Board. Similarly, all the madrassas registered with the Waqf Board will be linked to modern madrassa education in a phased manner.
