A spokesman of the state government said here on Wednesday that testing is being done rapidly with tracing in rural and urban areas of the state. Due to proper strategy, more than 2.5 lakh tests are being done daily in the state having population of 25 crores. So far, 6, 81, 37, 752 Covid samples have been tested, which is more than other states.

The spokesman said that in the matter of vaccination also, UP is ahead of other states. So far five and a half crore corona vaccine doses have been given in UP.
He informed that the role of vaccination against corona is important. In such a situation, the Yogi government is committed to get the people of the state vaccinated as soon as possible. The Chief Minister has given instructions to the officials to ensure that the second dose of Covid vaccine is received on time.
The Chief Minister has ordered that the people who are to be administered the second dose, should be communicated and contacted. Along with this, reserve the day of Saturday for the second dose. Appropriate arrangements should also be made in the state for vaccination of Buddhist monks, foreign nationals and helpless and destitute people.
27 new cases of corona found in last 24 hours
The spokesperson said that within the last 24 hours, 27 new cases of corona infection were found in the state. Meanwhile, 63 people have defeated Corona. So far, more than 16 lakh 85 thousand people have become corona infection free.
โAligarh, Amethi, Chitrakoot, Etah, Firozabad, Gonda, Hathras, Kasganj, Pilibhit, Pratapgarh, Shamli and Sonbhadra in these districts are today free from Covid infection due to lack of a single patient. The number of active cases in the state has been recorded 505. Not a single new case of infection was found in 59 districts, while in 16 districts, patients were found in unit digits. The positivity rate in UP remains 0.01 and the recovery rate is 98.6 percent,โ apprised state Spokesperson.
Vaccination camps will be organized in educational institutions
He said that for the vaccination of boys and girls above 18 years, vaccination camps would be organized in the university, school and college premises. The process of Covid vaccination is going on fast in the state. So far more than 5 crore 51 lakh vaccine doses have been administered in the state. More than 04 crore 64 lakh first doses of vaccine have been given, while more than 86 lakh second doses have been given.
293 oxygen plants functional in the state
According to a government spokesperson, the Yogi government is aware of the third wave of corona infection in the state. Due to which the expansion of beds is being done rapidly with the establishment of Piku-Niku in the state. At the same time, oxygen plants are being started rapidly. Let us tell you that UP is the first state where such a large number of oxygen plants are being made functional simultaneously. So far 293 oxygen plants have become functional in UP. At the same time, the process of setting up 556 plants is going on in full swing till August 15.
