Lucknow, 26 July: Now along with the uniform, the Yogi government will also give money for copy, pencil to the children studying in the schools of basic education. For this, Rs 100 per student will be given through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in this academic session.
The Yogi cabinet has passed the proposal of the Basic Education Department to give 1200 rupees instead of 1100 rupees.
Till now, the state government used to give Rs 600 for two pairs of uniforms, Rs 175 for school bags, Rs 125 for shoes and socks, Rs 200 for sweaters every year. This amount was given in the account of the parents through DBT. After the approval of this proposal in the cabinet, 1.91 crore children of the state will get its benefit.
With Rs 100 given by the state government through DBT, students will be able to buy 4 copies, two pens, two pencils and two erasers and two sharpeners. Under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, in the budget 2022-23, the government has made a provision of 166 crores for the stationery of children.
Apart from this, in the budget 2022-23, the government has made a provision of about 2200 crores for the uniform, shoe-stocking, sweater of the students.
Target to benefit 2 crore students
It is to be known that at present there is a provision to provide free uniforms to the students of classes 1 to 8 from the budget of the central and state government and shoe-stockings, sweaters, school bags free of cost from the budget of the state government.
In the academic year 2021-2022, the amount of free uniforms, sweaters, shoe-stockings and school bags for the use of students studying from class one to eight in council primary / upper primary schools and non-government aided primary / pre-secondary schools in the state. DBT was done through PFMS to the parents of the girl students.
The number of students benefited through DBT in the academic year 2021-2022 is 1, 56,28,121. The target is to benefit 2 crore students in the academic year 2022-2023.
At the same time, a transparent system will be established with the transfer of funds through DBT. By getting all the facilities simultaneously to all the children enrolled in the schools, the market will develop at the local level, as a result of which the opportunities of self-employment will increase in the rural areas.
Timely availability of facilities to the students will improve their attendance and learning-teaching environment and will provide more opportunities to acquire class-wise proficiency.
