Oath of newly elected MLAs in UP Assembly on March 28

Lucknow, March 27: Newly elected MLAs including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will take oath of assembly membership on Monday.

Along with taking oath as MLA, Chief Minister Yogi can also talk to the media. On the second day, on March 29, the election of the Speaker of the Assembly will be held. For this, a notification has been issued on Saturday with the permission of the Governor.

Nomination can be done for election to the post of President till 2 pm on March 28. The Governor has appointed former minister Ramapati Shastri as the pro-tem speaker to administer the oath to the newly elected MLAs. Different names have been discussed in the political corridor for the post of Speaker.

Meanwhile, the BJP sources say that the name of the eighth-time MLA Satish Mahana is in the forefront. Former minister Mahana can be elected to the post of Speaker of the UP Legislative Assembly.
