New Delhi, 07 October: Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Neeraj Chopra’s Javelin has got the highest bid of Rs 1.5 crore in the e-auction of gifts and mementos received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
At the same time, items like ornamental mace, replica of Statue of Unity, spinning wheel and bell received much higher bids than the base price.
Apart from Neeraj Chopra’s Javelin getting the highest bid in this e-auction of gifts, Tokyo Para-Olympics gold medalist Sumit Antill’s Javelin got a bid of Rs 1.002 crore. While Bhavani Devi’s autographed fence got a bid of Rs 1.25 crore.
On the other hand, Sardar Patel statue (140 bids), wooden Ganesh (117 bids), Pune Metro Line memento (104 bids) and Victory Flame memento (98 bids) received the highest bids.
It is noteworthy that a total of 1348 gifts were included in this e-auction which started from September 17th. October 7 was the last day of e-auction. The amount received from this e-auction will be spent in cleaning the Ganga under the Pradhan Mantri Namami Gange Project. This is the third time that the gifts received by PM Modi have been auctioned.
