Mumbai, May 16: Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday said that the forcible entry at Trimbakeshwar in Nashik district would be probed through a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The SIT will probe the forcible entry into the Trimbakeshwar temple last year as well. He said that at present the situation around Trimbakeshwar temple is under control.

On Monday, some people tried to forcefully enter the Trimbakeshwar temple during the Urus, but were stopped by the temple administration, leading to tension around the temple.

However, tension calmed down after the intervention of the police and the temple administration.

After this, the Brahmin Federation has demanded action after a thorough investigation of the matter. The Brahmin federation had warned of fierce agitation if no action was taken.

Following this demand of the Brahmin Federation, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis told reporters that he has ordered an SIT probe into the matter. This inquiry will be done under the supervision of Inspector General level officer. Now the SIT will also investigate similar forcible entry that took place last year.
