New Delhi, August 7: Congress Rajya Sabha MP Pradeep Bhattacharya has claimed that the opposition alliance will contest the elections under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi as soon as Rahul Gandhi’s parliamentary membership is restored. This time, a new political chapter will start under his leadership.

In response to a question about who would be the leader of the ‘India’ coalition of opposition parties, he said that it is not being thought of at the moment, but the main objective is to remove the BJP from power.

Meanwhile, the BJP is also continuously targeting this situation in the opposition by calling it ‘policy paralysis’. The third mega meeting of the opposition alliance will be held in Mumbai later this month.

The Congress Rajya Sabha MP claimed that Rahul was being harassed by filing a defamation case against him for bravely exposing the BJP’s anti-people activities to the public, but the Supreme Court ruled in favour of Rahul. This time, a new political chapter will start under his leadership. The opposition will contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, keeping them in front.

Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, “I often hear that the Congress did nothing in 70 years, so did Modi come to Delhi from Gujarat on a bullock cart? When Congress came to power, the situation in the country was not good. It was the Congress that corrected it. The people of the country built India.”

Regarding the pending money for the 100-day employment guarantee scheme in West Bengal, the MP said, “The state must get its due money. Where and how that money is being spent should also be disclosed as per the procedure.”
