Opposition’s ‘INDI Alliance’ meeting postponed, alliance partners distancing from Congress after 3 states debacle, sources

New Delhi, 05 December: The proposed big meeting of constituent parties of opposition alliance INDIA in Delhi on December 6 has been postponed.

This meeting was called by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. Now a small meeting will be held on this date and the date of the next big meeting will be decided.

No statement has been issued by the Congress regarding the postponement of this meeting, but sources said that after receiving information that many leaders of the constituent parties will not attend this proposed meeting, now this meeting will be postponed to December 6.

Now a small meeting will be held in Delhi on December 6 and the date of the upcoming big meeting will be decided.

Sources said that Bihar Chief Minister and JDU chief Nitish Kumar, West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had informed about not coming to this meeting.

Similarly, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren had expressed his inability to attend the meeting citing time. Mamta had even said that she had no information about this meeting. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK chief MK Stalin had expressed his inability to reach Delhi for the meeting due to visiting areas of the state affected by Cyclonic Storm Michong.

It is believed that the leaders of the alliance’s constituent parties are angry with the Congress’s crushing defeat in the Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan assembly elections.

Opposition parties say that Congress is not serious about INDI Alliance. In view of all these issues, this proposed meeting has been postponed. At the same time, a Congress leader has said that a meeting of MPs involved in ‘INDI A’ will be held on December 6 at 6 pm at the residence of Congress President Kharge. In this meeting, the date of the big meeting of the presidents of the constituent parties of the alliance will be decided in the third week of December.
