Lucknow, 26 February: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated here on Monday that his administration takes note of any true news stories released by the media that are not propaganda and reflect the views of society to the government.

Addressing a media house’s ‘Samvad’ show here, the chief minister stated that the government now examines every item of news as a recommendation and pays attention to fact-based news reports.

He emphasized that the media, which includes print, electronic, and increasingly social and digital platforms, is a cornerstone of a healthy democracy, exerting substantial impact on society. “The importance of print media cannot be overstated, even now. He noted that each of these channels has its own following.

He went on to say that many individuals still consider their day incomplete until they read the newspaper. At the same time, many people have linked to digital media via cellphones and have not switched on their televisions in years. Regardless the platform, the foundation of journalism must be built purely on truth. According to the CM, the media serves as a link between the people and the government, informing the latter of the former’s opinions and proposals.

?Moving on from ‘Rising UP’ to ‘Shining UP’, he stated that the country has transformed dramatically during the last decade. Today, India is regarded across the world for its secure borders, competent internal government, and world-class infrastructure. People’s trust has grown, and they are benefiting from non-discriminatory social services. For the first time, the government is focusing on meeting the people’s basic necessities while respecting their religions,” he said.

The chief minister emphasized that people’s perceptions of the state have entirely changed since 2017. “Before 2017, more than 300 riots took occurred in the state in a year, and a curfew was imposed for half of the year. Entrepreneurs were wary of investing in the state due to a lack of security for themselves and their investments. The state’s education and healthcare systems were in full chaos.

He contrasted the state’s deplorable circumstances with today’s bustling Uttar Pradesh, noting that the youth now wield tablets rather than firearms. Extortions no longer occur in Uttar Pradesh. Instead, there is the PM SVANidhi program for street sellers. Curfews are no longer in effect here; instead, the Kanwar Yatra is being arranged with fervour. Uttar Pradesh has progressed from a ‘breaker’ in the country’s growth to a breakthrough since 2017.

He went on to say that the GBC@4.0 just brought an investment of 10 lakh 24 thousand crores to the ground. Yogi underlined that Uttar Pradesh, once renowned for its potholes, has evolved into the ‘Expressway State’.

He stated that the state presently has 40% of the nation’s expressways, and that the Ganga Expressway will be completed by the end of the year, bringing the total to 55%. He also noted a significant increase in airports, from two to nine already operating, with an additional ten airports planned to open under the Prime Minister’s leadership.

“Uttar Pradesh is growing as the world’s largest tourism destination. The state has unprecedented prospects, with MSME exports alone amounting to ?2 lakh crore. Schemes are being launched for all segments of society, without distinction, including youth, farmers, women, entrepreneurs, the elderly, divyanjans, and poor women. The consequence is clear: Uttar Pradesh can boldly claim to be the development engine of India’s economy,” he continued.
