New Delhi, 19 March: There are 730 ‘One Stop Centres’ (OSC) across the country providing psychological treatment, medical and legal aid to victims of rape, domestic violence, human trafficking, acid attack and honour killing. Out of these 700 centers are active. At the same time, there is not a single ‘one stop centre’ in the state of West Bengal.
Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani gave this information in written reply during a Question Hour in the Lok Sabha.
She informed that there are 730 ‘One Stop Centers’ in the country out of which 700 centers are active. West Bengal has not shown any interest in the scheme. A total of 3, 05,896 cases have been reported in all these active centers by the year 2015-2020.
