Over 3.25 crore passengers travelled in Lucknow Metro since its start

Lucknow, August 06: Since the start of the metro rail service in the capital Lucknow, over 3.25 crore passengers have traveled till now. Metro train service in Lucknow was started on September 05, 2017.

Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (UPMRCL) Managing Director Kumar Keshav apprised that since the commencement of metro train service in Lucknow, over 3.25 crore passengers have travelled so far. The number of passengers exceeding 3.25 crore is a historic achievement. These are moments of pride for us.

“The comfortable and safe journey that we had resolved to overcome all the challenges for the people of Lucknow, seems to be reaching a milestone today because of the constant support and trust we are getting from the passengers. That is why we are grateful to the people of Lucknow,” he said.

He said that we assure the passengers that we will remain committed to serve them with the same dedication and dedication in future.

The MD said that at present, in view of Covid, all the arrangements made to ensure safe travel in metro stations and metro trains are in progress. Special care is being taken for sanitization and physical distance for safe and smooth travel.

“Lucknow Metro has become the first metro service in the country to sanitize the coaches of metro trains with ultraviolet rays since the beginning of this year. The result of these efforts is that the number of passengers has increased rapidly since the resumption of metro service in Lucknow in Unlock-02 from June 09,” The MD added.  

He further stated that the Lucknow Metro has already managed to achieve 50 percent of the ridership before Corona with an average passenger count of 32 thousand whereas at the same time the ridership recovery of metro services of other states is very less.
