Rawalpindi, 18 Oct: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has not been able to monitor internal and international flights during the last 24 hours. The reason is said to be a shortage of fuel and a fund crunch to pay for it.

PIA cancelled 16 international and eight local flights on Wednesday. PIA cancelled some flights for Dubai, Muscat, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Kuwait.

PIA has claimed that alternate arrangements are being made for the travellers. The situation was not different on Tuesday when 11 international and 13 internal flights were cancelled due to the short supply of fuel.

According to the media reports Pakistan has not been able to pay for the fuel. Many other flights are likely to be delayed.
