New Delhi, 24 Dec: Speaking on the Parliament security breach issue on Sunday, BJP Lok Sabha member Pratap Simha stated that the people will finally determine if he was a patriot or a traitor during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
He stated he will leave it to the gods and his reading admirers to decide on the purported “traitor” claims made against him because he does not want to reveal anything about the event or the investigation. The demonstrators who leaped into the Lok Sabha chamber on December 13, and let off smoke canisters did so on passes provided on Simha’s advice. “Whether Pratap Simha is a traitor or a patriot — mother Goddess Chamundeshwari on Mysuru’s highlands, mother Goddess Cauvery on Brahmagiri —

Speaking to reporters here, he remarked, in response to a query about banners branding him a “traitor,” “They (people) are the ones who have to ultimately give judgement. They will judge whether or not I am a patriot. I leave it up to them to decide. Other than that, I’m at a loss for words.”
Following the security breach at Parliament, the Congress and other organizations launched a protest against Simha.
When asked about the event and whether his remark was recorded, Simha just stated, “I have said whatever I have to. I have nothing further to say about it.”
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said on Friday that Simha’s statement had been recorded as part of the investigation into the Parliament security breach. Simha, a journalist-turned-politician, is a two-term BJP Lok Sabha member representing Mysore-Kodagu
