Rajasthan government also reduced VAT on petrol-diesel by two percent, new rates effective from friday
New Delhi, 14 March: The Central Government has given great relief to the common man. The government has reduced the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 2 per liter before the Lok Sabha elections. The new rates will be applicable from Friday morning, March 15.
Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has given this information by issuing a post on ‘X’ on Thursday.ย Puri said that by reducing the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 2 per liter, the country’s successful Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again proved that the welfare of his family and the convenience of crores of Indians is always his goal.
In the post issued in this regard, Hardeep Singh Puri has also given information about the history of availability of petrol and diesel in India.
He told how when the world was going through difficult times, the prices of petrol increased by 50 to 72 percent in developed and developing countries.
He further wrote that petrol has stopped being available in many countries around India. Despite the biggest oil crisis in 50 years since 1973, due to the foresight of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, petrol prices have come down by 4.65 percent in the last two and a half years. After this deduction, the price of petrol in the country’s capital Delhi will be Rs 94.72 per liter and diesel will be Rs 87.62 per liter. In Mumbai, petrol will be available at Rs 104.21 and diesel at Rs 92.15 per litre. Whereas in Kolkata, petrol will be available at Rs 103.94.72 per liter and diesel at Rs 90.76. Apart from this, petrol will be available at Rs 100.75 and diesel at Rs 92.34 per liter in Chennai.
While posting on social media, the Union Minister has written that if today’s cut is included, then petrol has become cheaper by Rs 15 and diesel by Rs 17 per liter from November 2021. In fact, the government last changed the prices of petrol and diesel at the national level on May 21, 2022. The government had reduced excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 and diesel by Rs 6 per litre. Due to this, petrol became cheaper by Rs 9.5 and diesel by Rs 7 per liter.
Apart from this, Rajasthan government has also decided today to reduce VAT on petrol and diesel by two percent. With this, the price of petrol will become cheaper by Rs 1.40 per liter to Rs 5.30 per liter in different cities of the state. At the same time, the price of diesel will decrease by Rs 1.34 per liter to Rs 4.85 per liter. In Rajasthan also, the new prices of petrol and diesel will be applicable from 6 am tomorrow.
