Noida, 10 Oct: The Uttar Pradesh administration, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is moving rapidly to put the Safe City initiative into action. Approximately 22,000 cameras will be installed in various places as part of this initiative to increase surveillance and security.

The Home Department has identified 21,968 cameras for integration in 17 municipal corporations and Gautam Buddh Nagar in the initial phase of the project. 15,732 of these cameras have already been connected into the control room system.

Uttar Pradesh’s Safe City Project: The Safe City project aims to make Uttar Pradesh a safer place for all people, particularly women and children. The project will also aid in crime prevention and make it easier for police to investigate and solve crimes.

According to a release, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated in July that Uttar Pradesh will be the first state in the country to have 18’safe cities,’ offering a favorable atmosphere for the safety and development of every citizen of the state.

Cities Included in the Safe City Project: “In the first phase, all 17 Municipal Corporations and Gautam Budh Nagar should be developed as ‘Safe Cities’ in the next three months. We will manage the finances for this through inter-departmental coordination,” Adityanath said during a review meeting here.

In the second phase, 57 district headquarters municipalities will be linked to the Safe City initiative, and in the third phase, 143 municipalities will be linked.

Special branding should also be done by placing a ‘Safe City’ signboard at the entrance to all such cities. As a result, Uttar Pradesh would be the first state in the country to have the most number of safe cities, according to the Chief Minister.

The state administration is resolved to create an atmosphere favorable to the safety and development of all citizens, he said, adding that efforts in this regard over the previous six years have generated positive results.

“Today, every woman and every businessman in the state is safe. People are feeling secure. To keep this mindset alive, we must be on high alert 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Safe City Project is proving to be extremely useful in ensuring women’s safety, dignity, and self-reliance,” he stated.
