Ayodhya, 30 November: The PM Kusum C-1 scheme has been implemented in Ayodhya district under which a big subsidy will be given to the farmers for solarization of private tube wells. A total of 90 percent of the amount will be given by the government that will benefit so far 10 thousand farmers across the state. This scheme is also applicable in the district and will be given on first come first serve basis.

With the intention of promoting solarization of on-grid connected agricultural pumps and products in Uttar Pradesh and attracting more investment in this sector, a solarization portal of on-grid connected agricultural pumps has been developed for the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA). This portal will also promote solar PV systems for solarization in Uttar Pradesh. Beneficiaries who are willing to invest in solarization of on-grid connected agricultural pumps in Uttar Pradesh and to install solarization of on-grid connected agricultural pumps on private tube wells with electric meters installed can register themselves on the portal at upnedakusumc1.in. After registration, the request will be forwarded to UPNEDA for further processing.

Suppose you irrigate your fields with electricity. This also leads to a huge bill on irrigation. The plan is that if you also want to save electricity, then you can convert your private tube well into a solar system. Last year, eight farmers were able to avail this benefit.

Only 10 percent has to be given to the beneficiary

NEDA project in-charge Praveen Nath Pandey says that solarization of on-grid pumps installed under MNRE PM Kusum Yojana component (C-1) will be done in the state. In addition to the 30 percent subsidy by the central government, the state government will give 60 percent subsidy to the farmers of Scheduled Tribe, Vantangiya and Musahar caste. The remaining 10 percent will be paid by the beneficiary.

This is a big benefit for the farmers

A 4.5 kW solar pump will be installed for a pump of 3 HP capacity. The cost including GST will be 2.39 lakhs, but after the government subsidy, 23 thousand 900 will have to be paid. Similarly, solar plants up to 10 HP will be installed at Rs 39325 for 5 hp and Rs 54800 for 7 hp.
