PM Modi assures all possible assistance to Kerala government in relief efforts

New Delhi, August 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that our prayers are with the people affected by the landslide in Wayanad and the Center assures all possible assistance to aid in relief efforts. He said that the central government stands with the state government for all assistance and relief work. The Prime Minister today visited and inspected the landslide affected areas after an aerial survey in Wayanad, Kerala.

The Prime Minister met patients injured in the natural disaster and interacted with people living in relief camps. In the review meeting, Modi assured that the central government and the country are with the disaster affected in this hour of grief.

The Prime Minister said that he is keeping a close watch on the rescue operations in Wayanad and is in constant touch with the officials. He said that the disaster management fund has already been released and the remaining amount will also be released immediately. He said all central agencies capable of handling the current situation have been activated and are helping the affected people.

Prime Minister Modi praised the personnel of NDRF, SDRF, Army, State Police, local medical force, NGOs and other charitable organizations who immediately reached the disaster-hit area and started search and rescue operations. Modi

stressed the need to formulate new long-term schemes to help the affected people, especially the children who have lost their loved ones. He expressed confidence that the state government will play a key role in this with all the necessary assistance from the Center.

The Prime Minister assured the people of Wayanad that the country and the Central Government will leave no stone unturned in restoring livelihoods in the region, be it homes, schools, road infrastructure or the future of children.
