Raipur, July 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 10 development projects worth Rs 7600 crore in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. These projects are related to rail, road, and petroleum.
Along with this, the Prime Minister also flagged off a new train from Antagarh to Raipur.
The Prime Minister gave information about the central schemes being run in the state in the programme organised at the Science College Ground campus.
The Prime Minister said in his address that Chhattisgarh received a gift of more than seven thousand crores today. This gift is for the development of the people of the state.
He said that our schemes have brought development to tribal areas. The central government worked in Chhattisgarh on rail, road, and telecom. Nine years ago, 20 percent of the villages in Chhattisgarh did not have mobile connectivity; today it has reduced to 6 percent, and work is also being done on this.
He said that today, modern infrastructure has been built in India. We started a 3500-kilometre NH project in Chhattisgarh. With the Raipur-Dhanbad and Raipur-Vishakhapatnam corridors, a new saga of development will be written here.
Modi stated that Chhattisgarh got more money after the Mines and Mineral Act was changed. In 2014, the state had received Rs 1300 crore, but by 2021, the royalty had increased to Rs 2800 crore. If the DMF amount increased, the development of the districts would increase. More than 1 crore (60 lakh) Jan Dhan accounts were opened in the state. In this, more than 6 thousand crore rupees were deposited for the poor.
He said that more than Rs 40 thousand crore has been given to the youth for self-employment. During the Corona period, assistance of Rs 5 thousand crore was given to 2 lakh entrepreneurs in Chhattisgarh. An assistance of Rs 25 thousand crore was given in MNREGA. 75 lakh people in the state are being helped under the Ayushyamaan Yojana. The Ayushman Card can help anywhere in the country.
The Prime Minister said, that I assure you that the Government of India will continue to help every person in Chhattisgarh. Schools, roads, and water arrangements have been made for the children.
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that Chhattisgarh is a prosperous state. It is full of forests and mineral wealth. Under the leadership of PM Modi , a new policy has been adopted to make more provisions for the development of backward special areas.
Gadkari said that he is very happy that today the Prime Minister is inaugurating the Raipur-Visakhapatnam Highway. We have taken up works worth Rs 20,000 crore in Naxal-affected areas of Chhattisgarh. This will bring industries, and along with capital investment, employment will also come.
He added, along with the development of Chhattisgarh, the Raipur-Visakhapatnam Economy Corridor will also enhance the railways. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel also addressed the programme. During this, Deputy Chief Minister TS Singhdev was also present.
