PM Modi launches FM radio in Jharkhand’s Lohardaga, Barhwa and Godda

Ranchi, 28 April: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday virtually inaugurated the Prasar Bharati Akashvani FM transmitter at Lohardaga, Barharwa in Sahibganj district and Godda in the state.

State Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon, present at the inauguration ceremony in Laehardaga, said that radio has always been a better medium of information for the people. Even today the importance of radio has not diminished. It is definitely a matter of pride to inaugurate the FM transmitter here. People living in remote rural areas will get its benefit. People will get information about weather and government schemes along with information.

Lohardaga DC Dr. Waghmare Prasad Krishna said that the launch of FM transmitter will definitely prove to increase the pace of development. Its meaningful results will emerge in the coming time. During this Padmashree Madhu Mansukh Mansuri including artists of the area and others were present.

Godda MP Nishikant Dubey thanked Prime Minister Modi and Information Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur for giving the gift of FM radio at a function organized in Godda. Also said that he was continuously striving for FM. Prasar Bharati already has its office in Godda. In this, now FM on 103.6 meter frequency will be heard up to a distance of 20 km from Godda district headquarters. The programs will be telecast from Delhi. Apart from Vividh Bharti and music, people will also be able to listen to news on FM.

It is noteworthy that the Prime Minister inaugurated a total of 91 FM transmitter centers online, in which three districts of Jharkhand got the gift of FM. The FM was inaugurated today at 10:30 am. union Minister for Information Broadcasting Anurag Thakur and Minister of State for Information Broadcasting Dr. L. Murugan were also present on the occasion.
