Mumbai, 01 April: Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a coin of Rs 90 on completion of 90 years of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in Mumbai on Monday. It is made of 40 grams of pure silver. To buy one coin you will have to spend around โน 5200 to 5500. The Rs 90 silver coin has the bank’s logo imprinted on one side and Rs 90 written on the other side.
‘Bharat’ is written in Hindi on the right side of the coin and ‘Bharat’ is written in English on the left side. The weight of this Rs 90 coin will be 40 grams. This coin is made of 99.9 percent pure silver.
Earlier, coins have also been issued on the Golden Jubilee of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in 1985 and RBI Platinum Jubilee in 2010. This ninety rupee coin will be sold at a price higher than its face value. The price of this coin is expected to be Rs 5200 to 5500. Bank employees and coin collectors across the country are showing great enthusiasm about this coin.
The Finance Ministry of the Government of India had issued a gazette notification for the release of this coin on March 19, 2024.
Talking about the 90 years of achievements of RBI, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the role of RBI is very important and big in keeping the banking system of the country strong. The functioning of RBI has a direct impact on the economy of the common people of the country. RBI has played an important role in extending the benefits of financial inclusion to the people at the last mile.
