Mahakumbh Nagar, 5 February: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday gave the message of unity to the whole world by taking a holy dip in the sacred confluence of ancient rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj Mahakumbh.
Prime Minister Modi took a dip in the Triveni Sangam with full faith and devotion amidst Vedic chanting. Before taking a holy dip, the Prime Minister offered Arghya to Lord Surya. During this, he was also seen chanting Rudraksha beads. He took a holy dip while worshiping Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati.
After taking a dip, he also performed Ganga Puja and Aarti. Earlier, on the arrival of the Prime Minister in Prayagraj, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed him.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed prayer ritually before taking a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam. Before descending into the Sangam, the PM first touched the water with faith and took blessings, then offered ‘Arghya’ to the Sun and also performed ‘Tarpan’.
Wearing a black kurta and saffron sash and Himachali cap, PM Modi offered Akshat, Naivedya, flowers, fruits and red chunari at Sangam Triveni amidst Vedic mantras and slokas.
After this, he also performed Aarti of the three holy rivers at the Sangam site. The Tirtha Purohit present there greeted him by applying tilak. After this, PM Modi, along with the Chief Minister, sat on the same boat and left for the helipad.
At the Maha Kumbh, where devotees from all over the world are gathering, the Prime Minister gave the message of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ and ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ to the whole world through a holy dip. PM Modi’s Sangam bath on Wednesday was a very important and historic moment.
Actually, Wednesday was a special day, because according to the Hindu calendar, Gupt Navratri is going on at this time and “Bhishma Ashtami” was also on Wednesday. While goddess worship is done on Gupt Navratri, on “Bhishma Ashtami”, devotees also perform tarpan and shraddha of their ancestors.
CM Yogi welcomed him on reaching Prayagraj
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Prayagraj Airport in the morning, from where he reached DPS helipad by sitting in MI-17 helicopter. Here Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed and greeted him. From here the Prime Minister reached Arail Ghat, from where he boarded a special boat and headed towards Triveni Sangam. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also present with him on the boat.
During this, the Prime Minister was also seen taking information from CM Yogi about the arrangements made in Mahakumbh and the facilities being given to the devotees. During the tour by boat, the PM also accepted the greetings of the devotees present at Triveni Sangam.
Devotees continued to bathe in the Sangam even in the presence of the PM
When Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Triveni Sangam, common devotees were also bathing in the Sangam. Despite the arrival of PM Modi, people were not stopped from bathing. Even after the VVIP movement, there was no deadlock anywhere and in a way PM Modi and other devotees took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam together. Devotees also looked happy with this and in the presence of lakhs of people on the banks of the Sangam, chants of Har Har Gange and Modi-Modi kept resonating.
It is worth mentioning that in the Maha Kumbh that started on January 13, despite the VVIP movement, devotees are not facing any problem in bathing in the Sangam. The result of this is that in just 24 days, 39 crore devotees have taken a holy dip in the Sangam so far.
PM Modi had launched several projects on December 13
Earlier, PM Modi had visited Prayagraj on 13 December, a month before the start of Maha Kumbh, and had given the gift of 167 projects worth Rs 5500 crore. This included major projects of upgradation and development of railway stations for passenger facilities as well as ROB flyovers, widening, strengthening and beautification of roads. Apart from this, projects related to permanent ghats, river front, sewerage, drinking water facilities along with power supply were also launched.
Not only this, PM Modi also inaugurated Akshayavat Corridor, Saraswati Koop Corridor, Bade Hanuman Mandir Corridor, Bhardwaj Rishi Ashram Corridor, Shringverpur Dham Corridor. The purpose of the launch of these projects and corridors was not only to make the experience of Maha Kumbh memorable for the devotees, but also to show a new direction of progress to Teerthraj Prayagraj.
