PM Modi says in Bulandshahr, UP – Modi sounds the bugle of development, not polls

Bulandshahr/New Delhi, 25 January: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a public meeting in Bulandshahr in western Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, said that before my rally it was being said that today Modi will sound the election bugle. He said that but Modi blows the trumpet not for elections but for development.

The Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various development projects worth over Rs 19,100 crore in Bulandshahr. Addressing the public meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the affection and trust shown by the people of Bulandshahr, especially the mothers and sisters present in large numbers. 

Modi thanked the people of Uttar Pradesh for the darshan of Lord Shri Ram on January 22 and the presence of the people of Uttar Pradesh on today’s occasion. He congratulated the people of Bulandshahr and entire Western Uttar Pradesh for development projects worth more than Rs 19,100 crore today in the areas of railways, highways, petroleum pipelines, water, sewage, medical colleges and industrial townships. 

He also mentioned the inauguration of projects related to the cleanliness campaign of Yamuna and Ram Ganga rivers.

Remembering former Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, the Prime Minister said that this region has given the country a son like Kalyan Singh, who dedicated his life to both the cause of Ram and the cause of the nation. 

The Prime Minister expressed happiness that the country has fulfilled the dream of Ayodhya Dham of Kalyan Singh and people like him. “We have to further increase our pace to fulfill his dream of a strong nation and true social justice,” Modi said.

Speaking at the conclusion of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony in Ayodhya, the Prime Minister stressed on giving priority to ‘Rashtra Pratistha’ and taking it to new heights. Highlighting the government’s resolve to transform India into a developed India by 2047,

Modi said, “We must move forward from the path of Dev to Desh and Ram to Rashtra.” Speaking about achieving higher goals, the Prime Minister stressed on gathering all the necessary resources with spirit. Noting the need to reinvigorate the sectors of agriculture, science, education, industry and enterprise, Modi said, “Fast-paced development of Uttar Pradesh is necessary to build a developed India.” “Today’s opportunity is a big step in this direction,” he said.

Referring to the regional imbalance of development in post-independence India, the Prime Minister said that Uttar Pradesh, the most populous state, was neglected. The Prime Minister criticized the ‘ruler’ mentality, and the earlier era of promoting social divisions for the sake of power, which resulted in a heavy cost to the state and the country. 

The Prime Minister asked, “If the country’s largest state was weak, how could the country become strong?”

With the formation of the double engine government in Uttar Pradesh in 2017, the Prime Minister underlined that the state has found new ways to tackle old challenges and drive economic growth and today’s occasion is a testament to the government’s commitment. 

Citing examples of recent developments in western Uttar Pradesh, the Prime Minister mentioned the development of one of the two defense corridors in India and the construction of several new national highways. 

He underlined the government’s emphasis on increasing connectivity to all parts of UP through modern expressways, launch of the first Namo Bharat train project, metro connectivity in several cities and making the state a hub of eastern and western dedicated freight corridors.

The Prime Minister said, “Due to the efforts of the government, today Western Uttar Pradesh is becoming one of the major employment providing regions in the country.” Referring to the adverse impact on agriculture due to lack of connectivity in earlier times, the Prime Minister said the solution could be seen in new airports and new dedicated freight corridors. 

The Prime Minister praised the double engine government for increasing the prices of sugarcane and ensuring prompt payment directly into the accounts of farmers after the produce is sold in the market. Similarly, focus on ethanol is proving beneficial for sugarcane farmers.

“The welfare of farmers is the government’s top priority,” Modi stressed. He said the government is attempting to create a safety net for farmers and mentioned spending crores of rupees to provide low-cost fertilizers to Indian farmers.

The Prime Minister said, “This is Modi’s guarantee that every citizen gets the benefits of government schemes. Today the country considers Modi’s guarantee as a guarantee of fulfillment of any guarantee.” He said that due to the genuine efforts of the government, 25 crore people were brought out of poverty in the last 10 years.
