PM Modi speaks to Karpoori Thakur’s MP son over phone, invites to PM’s residence

Patna, 24 January: The Central Government on Tuesday decided to give ‘Bharat Ratna’ the highest civilian award in the country, to Karpoori Thakur, former Chief Minister of Bihar and pioneer of social justice politics.ย 

After this, on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Karpoori Thakur’s son and JDU MP Ramnath Thakur on phone and invited him to visit his Delhi residence with his family.ย During this, the family members congratulated Karpoori Thakur on being awarded Bharat Ratna.

According to the information, while talking to Ramnath Thakur, the PM remembered Karpoori Thakur and said that I myself am a person from a backward class and can understand his contribution. Karpoori Thakur’s social justice politics had improved the lives of crores of people of the country.

Ramnath Thakur said while talking to the media that we spoke to PM Modi on phone. On behalf of all the deprived, oppressed and exploited, I congratulated the Central Government on its decision to award Bharat Ratna to Karpoori Thakur. He said that the Prime Minister has called him to his residence in Delhi after January 26.

It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been demanding Bharat Ratna for Karpoori Thakur for the last two decades. He has also sent recommendations to the Central Government several times. Nitish has also thanked the Prime Minister.
