New Delhi, 01 September: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the para-players who won medals in the Paris Paralympics on phone on Sunday.
Congratulating the players, the Prime Minister said that all the countrymen are proud of your achievements. Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya shared the video of the Prime Minister’s conversation with the Paralympic players on social media ‘X’.Mandaviya wrote that today Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the players who brought glory to India in the Paris Paralympics and praised them for their extraordinary performance.
He also congratulated the medal winning players. He further wrote that the respect and support received by the Paralympic Games in the last 10 years has taken the morale of our players to new heights. This has created a new consciousness towards Paralympic sports in India, which is inspiring the youth. The enthusiasm for sports has also increased, as a result of which India’s performance in the Paris Paralympics is commendable today.Prime Minister Modi, while talking to bronze medalist Preeti Pal, asked, “How are you all?” Preeti said, “We are all very good.”
The Prime Minister further said that many congratulations to all of you for winning medals in the Paralympics. You have hoisted the Indian tricolor. You have increased the pride of India. The countrymen are proud of all your achievements.
Prime Minister said that today I wanted to congratulate Avni too but she had to participate in some other event. The whole country is also overjoyed with her success. Preeti thanked the Prime Minister for congratulating him.While talking to silver medalist Manish Narwal, the Prime Minister said, “Manish, how are you? Would you like to tell us anything special from there?” On this Manish Narwal said, “Sir, the weather is very good here. Indian shooters have come after working very hard. We will definitely take more medals than last time. Prime Minister Modi said, “Manish, many congratulations from my side.”
Prime Minister Modi enquired about the health of bronze medalist Rubina Francis. The Prime Minister asked Rubina, tell me how are you. During the conversation with the Prime Minister, Rubina said, “Sir, we are fine. I was at the seventh position last time and this time I was successful in bringing bronze. Many things have changed for me. I am feeling very proud.” The Prime Minister said, many congratulations and best wishes to you. The
Prime Minister further said that the rest of the players whose games are going on and whose matches are yet to be held, give them my best wishes as well.

Thank you very much.This year India has sent its largest contingent ever to the Paralympics, which includes 84 athletes from 12 sports. India has so far won one gold, one bronze and one bronze medal in the Paris Paralympics.He has won a total of five medals including one silver and three bronze medals.
