PM Modi to inaugurate Tata Aircraft Complex in Gujarat on Monday: PMO

New Delhi, October 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will jointly inaugurate the Tata Aircraft Complex for the manufacture of military aircraft C-295 with his Spanish counterpart Pedro Sanchez in Gujarat on October 28.

Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate Bharat Mata Sarovar here. Apart from this, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various development projects worth more than Rs 4,900 crore.

According to the information released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Saturday, the Prime Minister will jointly inaugurate the Tata Aircraft Complex for the manufacture of C-295 aircraft at the Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) campus with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on October 28 at around 10 am. There are a total of 56 aircraft under the C-295 programme, of which 16 are being delivered directly by Airbus from Spain and the remaining 40 are to be built in India.

Tata Advanced Systems Limited will assemble these 40 aircraft in India. The facility will be the first private sector final assembly line (FAL) for military aircraft in India. It will involve the complete development of an entire ecosystem from aircraft manufacturing to assembly, testing and qualification, delivery and maintenance of the aircraft throughout its life cycle.

Apart from Tata, leading defence public sector units such as Bharat Electronics Limited and Bharat Dynamics Limited, as well as private micro, small and medium enterprises will also contribute to the programme.

The Prime Minister will visit the Laxmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara at around 11 am after the event.

According to the PMO, from Vadodara, the Prime Minister will travel to Amreli, where at around 2:45 pm he will inaugurate the Bharat Mata Sarovar at Dudhala in Amreli. The project was developed in collaboration between the Government of Gujarat and the Dholakia Foundation under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. A check dam with a capacity of 4.5 crore litres of water has been deepened, widened and strengthened. Now its capacity has increased to 24.5 crore litres. This improvement has increased the water level in nearby wells and bores which will help local villages and farmers by providing better irrigation.

Prime Minister Modi will then inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth about Rs 4,900 crore in Amreli, Gujarat at a public function at around 3 pm. These projects will benefit the citizens of Amreli, Jamnagar, Morbi, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Junagadh, Porbandar, Kutch and Botad districts of the state.
