PM Modi to participate in 3-day meet of DGPs in Jaipur

New Delhi, January 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the three-day All India Conference of Director Generals and Inspectors General of Police in Jaipur.

The conference to be held from January 5 to 7 will discuss issues related to cybercrime, technology in policing, counter-terrorism challenges, left-wing extremism, prison reforms, and internal security.

The Prime Minister’s Office said on Thursday that the Prime Minister will participate in the All India Conference of Director Generals-Inspectors General of Police 2023 at the Rajasthan International Centre in Jaipur on January 6-7.

Another major agenda item of the conference is deliberations on the road map for the implementation of the new criminal laws. Apart from this, future topics in policing and security, like challenges posed by new technologies like AI, deepfakes, etc., and ways to deal with them, will also be discussed in the conference.

The conference will be attended by the union Home Minister, National Security Advisor, Minister of State for Home, Cabinet Secretary, senior officials of the Central Government, Director Generals of Police of States and union Territories, and heads of Central Armed Police Forces and Central Police Organisations, among others.

The conference also provides an opportunity to identify concrete action points and monitor their progress, which are presented to the Prime Minister every year.

The conference is the culmination of extensive deliberations among district, state, and national-level police and intelligence officers on identified topics.

The best practices of states and union territories under each theme will be presented in the conference so that states can learn from each other.
