New Delhi, 02 December: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Maharashtra on Monday. Apart from this, he will also see the performance of the Indian Navy.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) issued a statement on Saturday saying that the Prime Minister will visit Maharashtra on December 4.

The Prime Minister will reach Sindhudurg in Maharashtra at around 4:15 pm and will unveil the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Rajkot Fort.

After that, the Prime Minister will participate in the ‘Navy Day 2023’ celebration programme at Sindhudurg.

The Prime Minister will also witness the ‘operational display’ of Indian Naval ships, submarines, aircraft, and special forces from Tarkarli Beach, Sindhudurg.

Navy Day is celebrated every year on December 4. The ‘Navy Day 2023’ celebrations at Sindhudurg pay tribute to the rich maritime heritage of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, whose seal inspired the new Naval Ensign, which was adopted last year when the Prime Minister commissioned the first indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant.

Every year on the occasion of Navy Day, there is a tradition of conducting ‘operational displays’ by ships, submarines, aircraft, and special forces of the Indian Navy.

These ‘Operational Demonstrations’ provide an opportunity for the people to see various aspects of multi-domain operations conducted by the Indian Navy.

It highlights to the public the contribution of the Navy towards national security while also instilling maritime consciousness among the citizens.
