New Delhi, 17 June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two-day visit to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
According to a press release issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Monday, on June 18 at 5 pm, the Prime Minister will participate in the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Sammelan in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh and release the next installment of Kisan Samman Nidhi. After this, at 7 pm, the Prime Minister will participate in Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. At 8 pm, he will also worship and visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
The Prime Minister will visit Bihar on June 19. At 9.45 am, the Prime Minister will visit the ancient heritage of Nalanda. At 10.30 am, the Prime Minister will also address the public meeting organized after the inauguration of the campus of Nalanda University in Rajgir, Bihar. The original Nalanda University, established about 1600 years ago, is considered one of the first residential universities in the world. In the year 2016, the ruins of Nalanda were declared a United Nations Heritage Site.
It is noteworthy that after taking oath as Prime Minister for the third time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his first decision signed the file to release the 17th installment of PM Kisan Nidhi. On June 18, from Varanasi, the Prime Minister will release the 17th installment of more than ? 20,000 crore to about 9.26 crore beneficiary farmers under the Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan). So far, more than 11 crore eligible farmer families have received benefits of more than Rs 3.04 lakh crore under the PM-Kisan scheme.
The Prime Minister will provide certificates to more than 30,000 Krishi Sakhi women of self-help groups organized on this occasion. The main objective of the Krishi Sakhi Convergence Program (KSCP) is to change the picture of rural India by empowering rural women as Krishi Sakhis and providing training and certification to Krishi Sakhi women as para-extension workers. This certification course is also in line with the objectives of the “Lakhpati Didi” program.
The new campus of Nalanda University in Rajgir, Bihar has been conceived as a joint collaboration between India and East Asia Summit (EAS) countries. Its inauguration ceremony will be attended by many eminent personalities including heads of missions of 17 countries.
The new university campus of Nalanda has two academic blocks with 40 classrooms, with a total seating capacity of about 1900. It has two auditoriums with a capacity of 300 seats. It has a student hostel with a capacity of about 550 students. It also has many other facilities including an international center, an amphitheater with a capacity of up to 2000 persons, faculty club and sports complex.
