Prayagraj, 21st December: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday gave the message of women empowerment and self-reliance to the entire country from the Prayagraj.

Under the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission, women associated with self-help groups, Banking Correspondent Sakhi, beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana and nutrition production units operated by self-help groups gave a new flight to women empowerment by giving a gift of crores of rupees.

Along with this, like a parent by communicating with the mother power, inspired them for success.

In order to provide assistance to women, the Prime Minister transferred an amount of Rs 1,000 crore to the accounts of self-help groups, which will benefit about 16 lakh women members of self-help groups.

However, this transfer was done under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM), according to which 80 thousand groups were given Community Investment Fund (CIF) at the rate of Rs 1.10 lakh per group and Rs 15 thousand per self-help group. 60 thousand clusters are getting operational funds from

Similarly, honorarium of Rs 4,000 for the first month was transferred by the Prime Minister to the accounts of 20 thousand Banking Correspondent Sakhis (BC Sakhi).

Modi also transferred an amount of more than 20 crores to more than one lakh beneficiaries under Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangal Yojana.

He also laid the foundation stone of 202 supplementary nutrition manufacturing units. These units are being financed by self-help groups and an expenditure of about one crore rupees will be incurred per unit for their construction. These units will supply supplementary nutrition under Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) to 600 blocks of the state.

In his half-an-hour address, Modi also sought blessings of BJP’s victory in the elections from the women beneficiaries.

Actually there is assembly elections to be held in UP after some time. During this, while praising Chief Minister Yogi, the Prime Minister said that now with the blessings of mothers and sisters, no one can push UP into darkness.

Before the address, Prime Minister Modi also interacted directly with self-help groups, Banking Correspondent Sakhi (BC Sakhi) and some women and daughters of Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangal Yojana.

During this, like a parent, he spoke personally to the beneficiaries. Some women had come to the event with their young children. The Prime Minister took the children in his lap, caressed and cuddled them.

The Prime Minister also targeted the opposition on the issue of minimum age of marriage for daughters. He said that the age of marriage of the daughters was 18 years. They also want that they too get time to move forward. Therefore, efforts are being made to increase the age of marriage to 21 years.

Modi said that the country is taking this decision for the sake of daughters, but everyone knows who is suffering because of it.

UP government working for women’s dignity and self-respect: Yogi

In the past, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that in the year 2014, as soon as the BJP government was formed at the Centre, Prime Minister Modi had given the slogan of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. We are all seeing the result of that today. The Modi government has done a lot of work in getting women’s rights. The benefit of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is being given to women.

Chief Minister Yogi said that in every village, land is being given in the name of most of the women under the Swamitva scheme. Today I can say that half of the population is getting rights. Banking Sakhi are working in every village of the state.

Yogi said that when I was made the Chief Minister in 2017, the Prime Minister had told us that the ratio of women and men in the state has to be improved. Our government put an end to feticide under Mukhvir Yojana. Under the Kanya Sumangala Yojana, 15 thousand rupees are being given at different stages from the birth of a daughter to the completion of her graduation. The confluences of mother power are being seen in the city of Sangam. Today, I can say firmly that according to the Prime Minister, the state government will work with full dedication for women’s dignity and their self-respect.
