Lucknow, Aug 28 : The “Fit India Movement” program will be launched by Prime Minister at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi on 29 August. In the program, he will administer an oath of “fitness pledge”. Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary, Dr. Anoop Chandra Pandey has directed the principal secretaries and secretaries of the concerned departments, including the divisional commissioners and district magistrates, that the Government of India initiates “Fit India Movement” in the daily lives of citizens through physical activities and sports.
He has also directed to ensure the participation of common citizen and students during the program by broadly publicizing the “Fit India Movement” Program. He has also directed to organize (Prabhat feri) and fitness run in the morning on 29th August through the concerned regional sports officers.
Dr. Pandey has issued this directives to all the Principal Secretaries and departmental head of higher, secondary, basic education, Panchayati Raj, Rural and Urban development department, medical and health and Youth welfare department in a pretext to make the “Fit India Movement” program a grand success.
He has also directed to ensure adequate measures for the live broadcast of this program in schools, gram panchayat, primary and community centers, city corporations and at public places. He said that every educational institutes should also prepare an “Institutional Fitness Plan” and also to make them as a part of the curriculum so that time can be fixed for fitness activities in every institution every day.
Dr. Anoop Chandra Pandey has also directed that more citizens should be requested to take the “fitness pledge” administered by the Prime Minister. He said that necessary arrangements should be made by the students and teachers of all educational institutions to make the pledge of “fitness pledge” on time. He said that a “fitness plan” of the educational institution should also be prepared in which not only the health of the students, but also necessary arrangements should also be done to make the campus attractive, green and clean.
