Bareilly, 22 Dec: After the local unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) claimed that “madrassa-type prayers” were being said in a government school here, police arrested the principal and a teacher. The event occurred in a government higher primary school in Faridpur, according to Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Vinay Kumar.
According to BSA, several members of the VHP’s local section accused school principal Nahid Siddiqui and shiksha mitra (teacher) Waziruddin of hurting the religious sensibilities of the residents in the Hindu-dominated neighbourhood by conducting “madrassa-type prayers” at the school.
According to the BSA, the VHP members also claimed that the accused were attempting to convert the kids.
According to police, a video of the event has also surfaced. According to the BSA, a FIR was lodged against the principal and the shiksha mitra on Wednesday based on the complaint letter of VHP’s city president Sompal Rathore.
He added that Waziruddin allegedly conducted “madrassa-type prayer” for a lengthy period at the request of principal Siddiqui, and pupils who opposed were intimidated. According to the BSA, the principal has been asked to clarify the situation, and an investigation of the shiksha mitra has been ordered.
