Chandigarh, March 15: The team of Special Operation Cell Mohali of Punjab Police has arrested three persons associated with the network of ISI terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda based in Pakistan. Two of them are from Maharashtra and one is from Ropar, Punjab. Police have recovered a pump action gun and a pistol from them.
Punjab Police Director General Gaurav Yadav said today that based on intelligence information, the State Special Operation Cell Mohali has busted a big module of the network of Pakistan-based BKI terrorist Harvinder Singh alias Rinda. The arrested accused have been identified as Jagjit Singh alias Jaggi resident of Nanded, Maharashtra, Shubham Khelbude resident of Nanded (Maharashtra) and Gurdeep Singh alias Deepa resident of Raipur, Police Station Nurpur Bedi (Ropar).
Yadav said Jagjeet alias Jaggi played a key role in facilitating ration, safe haven and coordination for the shooters involved in a murder in Nanded on February 10, which was plotted by Rinda from across the border. Police investigation has also revealed the role of jailed gangster Dilpreet alias Baba, an old associate of Rinda, who had arranged safe haven for the accused in Punjab. Police have recovered a .32 bore pistol, 8 live cartridges and a 12 bore pump action gun and 15 live cartridges from the accused.
