Hyderabad 13 December: Hyderabad Police has arrested well-known Telugu film actor Allu Arjun on Friday. On the occasion of the release of ‘Pushpa 2’, there was a stampede in Sandhya Theatre at RTC square in Hyderabad, in which a woman named Revathi died and her son Sreeteja was seriously injured.
Allu Arjun is also named as an accused in the case registered in connection with this incident. In this case, the police went to Allu Arjun’s house a while ago today and took the film actor into custody.
Allu Arjun has acted in the film Pushpa 2: The Rule directed by Sukumar. The film was released in theatres worldwide on December 5.
Earlier, premiere shows were held in different areas on December 4 (Wednesday) and in the same sequence, the cinema management and actor Arjun are accused of not informing the police about the stampede in the premiere show held at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. If the police had been informed about this, the incident could have been avoided through security measures.
The police say that a large number of fans gathered to see the actor. The police were not informed about this and the management did not take any precautions. No private security was arranged at the entry and exit gates of the theater to control the public.
Hyderabad Deputy Commissioner of Police Akanksha Yadav has said in her statement that Allu Arjun reached Sandhya Theater with private security personnel at 9.40 pm. Then the security personnel started pushing the crowd to control the mass. The theater was already packed with spectators inside and outside. In this sequence, a fight broke out. In this stampede, Revati’s family of Dilsukhnagar fell. A woman named Revati and her 13-year-old son Sriteja were taken to the hospital in critical condition. Doctors declared the woman dead in the hospital. Her son is in critical condition and is being treated.
The DCP said, we have registered a case based on the complaint of the victim’s family and are investigating the incident. In this sequence, Allu Arjun has been taken into custody by the police on Friday. Allu Arjun was taken to the City Criminal Court of Nampally in Hyderabad.
