RaGa asks to appear in UP court in connection with Amit Shah case

Sultanpur, 16 Dec: According to a lawyer, the MP-MLA Court in here summoned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on January 6 in a case in which he is accused of uttering certain statements against union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The court had already ordered Gandhi to appear on December 16, but he did not.

The matter originates from a lawsuit filed by Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vijay Mishra on August 4, 2018, in which he accused Rahul Gandhi of uttering offensive statements about Amit Shah. According to Mishra’s lawyer, Santosh Pandey, the MP-MLA court in Sultanpur called Gandhi in the matter on December 16, but he did not show.

Pandey stated that on November 18, after arguments, Judge Yogesh Yadav reserved the ruling and scheduled the next hearing for November 27 and asked Gandhi to appear on December 16. Mishra is a Hanumanganj inhabitant and the previous chairman of a cooperative bank.
