Jaipur, June 04: Rajasthan has been ranked as the first state of the country in the all-over ranking of the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Gramin (PMAY-G).
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has congratulated the people of the state, panchayati raj institutions, public representatives and all the personnel associated with the scheme on this important achievement of the state achieved in the ambitious plan of providing houses to all by the year 2022.
He has expressed the hope that in future also all the people will work with the same spirit and give more momentum to the works of the scheme.
It is worth mentioning that the PMAY-G is being run for the construction of pucca houses to the families living in homeless and kutcha houses in rural areas.
During the first phase of this scheme, run with the participation of the Central and State Governments, Rajasthan stood second at the national level in the year 2016-17 to 2017-18.
In the last two years, as a result of the special efforts and continuous monitoring of the state government, Rajasthan has further improved it and now the state has come first at the national level during the last four financial years.
The state government launched a special campaign in February-March, 2019 for the identification of eligible families who were deprived of being included in the permanent priority list of this scheme. During this campaign, the list of the identified deprived eligible families was sent to the Government of India and proper procedures were completed to give the benefits of the scheme.
As a result of this, 11.41 lakh houses have been completed so far by issuing approvals for providing permanent pucca houses to all the 13.36 lakh eligible families in the state’s priority list as per the Socio-Economic Census-2011.
The Central Government has set a target of benefitting a total of 3.97 lakh families in Rajasthan under PMAY-G for the year 2021-22.
Under the scheme, along with housing, the eligible families are also benefited under LPG connection, electricity connection, clean drinking water, labour card and Apna Khet Apna Kaam.
