Lucknow, 06 Jan: A recovery agent committed suicide by shooting himself with his father’s licensed revolver in Madiyav police station area, police said.
The young man was addicted to alcohol and was undergoing treatment at a de-addiction center. Police is investigating the matter.
Prashant Rastogi (34), resident of Hariom Nagar Faizullaganj of Madiyav, used to work as a recovery agent. His wife Pooja told police that when her husband reached home late on Friday night in an intoxicated state, his clothes were stained with mud and had injury marks. When the family asked, he told that he had fallen, saying this he went into the room. The wife gave painkillers and went into the kitchen to make tea.
She told further meanwhile, the sound of gunshot was heard and the family members rushed towards the room and they saw that Prashant was lying in a pool of blood. The family members immediately took him to the Trauma Center, where the doctors declared him dead.
The police, which reached on the information, sent the body for post-
mortem and started investigating the case.
