Mumbai, September 9: Actress Rhea Chakraborty, prime accused in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, has been sent to the Byculla Jail on Wednesday by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
However, the NCB kept Riya in her in women’s lockup overnight after the court rejected her bail plea on Tuesday.
According to the information, Rhea was grilled by the NCB for 20 consecutive hours for three consecutive days to investigate the drug connection in the film actor Sushant Singh Rajput death case.
Later on, the actress was arrested by the NCB on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, The NCB produced Rhea through video conferencing in the NDPS court late in the evening yesterday and the court ruled to send the actress to 14 days judicial custody.
But the actress’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde presented her bail application in the NDPS court itself. Therefore, for a long time, there was a cross-examination in the court regarding Rhea’s bail.
However, in the end the court turned down her bail application.
After this, according to the jail manual, Rhea could not be sent to Byculla Women’s prison. For this reason, NCB kept her in its women’s lockup all night.
This morning, at 10.25 AM, NCB has taken her to Byculla jail. Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde has applied for her bail in the sessions court today.
According to sources, late actor Sushant’s girl friend has given much crucial information about the drug connection to NCB.
The NCB says that Rhea needs to be in judicial custody to investigate these details. For this reason NCB will oppose her bail plea.
