Mumbai, September 22: In the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, the special court on Tuesday extended the judicial custody of the prime accused actress Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty till October 6.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) opposed granting bail to the duo and demanded judicial custody in the court. Therefore, both will have to remain in jail till the 6th of the following month.
The counsel for both of them has filed a bail petition in the High Court today. The High Court will hear this on Wednesday.
NCB first arrested Showik and Rhea Chakraborty on September 8 after investigating the drug connection in Sushant Singh Rajput death case.
The Special Court sent Rhea-Showik to judicial custody for 14 days. Today, after the judicial custody of both is over; the NCB again demanded extension of judicial custody of both.
In this case, sister-brother did not get bail from the special court, their lawyer Satish Maneshinde had filed a bail petition in the sessions court, which was rejected by the sessions court.
After this, lawyer Satish Maneshinde filed a bail plea in the High Court on Tuesday. The matter will be heard in the High Court on Wednesday.
