Lucknow, 15 April: Additional Chief Secretary Medical and Health Amit Mohan Prasad said on Thursday that in the last 24 hours, 22,439 fresh cases of coronavirus infection have been reported across Uttar Pradesh.
He again urged public to wear mask if stepping out of home, else, penalty will be slapped. Follow Covid protocols even after vaccination and wash hands with soap and water also avoid visiting crowded places.
Additional Chief Secretary Medical and Health informed that the capacity of testing is being raised continuously across the state. A total of 2, 06,517 samples were tested in the last single day. A total of 3, 75, 90,753 samples have been screened so far in the state. In this 89,964 samples have been investigated through RTPCR.
He informed that 22,439 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported across the state in the last 24 hours. Out of 1, 29,848 active corona cases in the state, 66,528 people are in home isolation whereas 2012 people in private hospitals and remaining patients are also undergoing treatment in government hospitals.
He told that in the last 24 hours, 4,222 people have been cured and discharged from various hospitals taking the total recovery to 6, 27,032. A population of 15,63,94,254 of 3,22,71,161 households has been surveyed through 5,34,246 team days in 2,03,413 regions through surveillance teams in the state.
He further apprised that vaccination against Covid-19 is underway for those above 45 years of age in the state. So far 86, 24,856 people have been given the first dose of vaccine and out of those taking the first dose, 14, 26,472 people have been given the second dose. Thus, a total dose of 1, 00, 51,328 vaccines has been administered to the beneficiaries.
Amit Prasad said that to control the infection of Covid-19 in the state, migrant workers coming from different states will be kept in quarantine centres in accordance with the Covid protocol in the districts. In quarantine centres, along with medical facilities, proper arrangements for food and sleeping will be ensured.
