Lucknow, 25 November: Dr Sachin Awasthi, Head of the Orthopedic Department of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS), died during treatment in Delhi on Friday night. Dr Sachin Awasthi was suffering from cancer.
For a long time, he was undergoing treatment in the ICU of RMLIMS, Lucknow. For the last several days, Dr Sachin Awasthi was admitted to the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences Hospital in Delhi where he breathed his last.
Speaking at the condolence meeting at RMLIMS on Saturday, the director of the institute, Prof (Dr.) Sonia Nityanand expressed her condolences and said that his death is a big loss not only for the institute but also for the people of Lucknow district and the state.
During the condolence meeting in the packed auditorium, doctors of all departments had teary- eyes.
