Lucknow: Members of the Uttariya Railway Mazdoor Union (URMU) and National Federation of Indian Railwaymen (NFIR) organised a meeting at the gates of the Loco Workshop in Charbagh on Tuesday in protest against the new pension scheme of the Modi government.
Addressing the gathering, general secretary of the URMU BC Sharma gave a call to oppose anti-labor policies of the Modi government and roll back the New Pension Scheme and Unified Pension Scheme.
Sharma asked the centre to implement the Old Pension Scheme.
Along with this, Sharma was demanded to increase the ceiling of bonus.
He assured to make Loco Workshop Charbagh, Lucknow a full incentive shop.
On the occasion, Sharma also issued an appeal to vote for NFIR candidates by stamping on the symbol ‘rail engine’.
It may be pointed out that elections for the Railways union will take place on December 4, 5, 6.
Anup Kumar Pandey, member of the union, informed that a resolution was passed at the meeting asking the union government to roll back the new pension scheme and the unified pension scheme.
The meeting was organised under the supervision of the Loco Workshop Charbagh branch secretary C B Singh and president Praveen Tiwari.
Other guests included NFIR assistant general secretary C P Singh, central vice president Jagdamba Tiwari , assistant general secretary of URMU Ajay Kishore Dubey along with other guests.
Thousands of supporters were present in the public meeting.
