New Delhi, 08 February: Congress leader in the Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said on Monday that Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar have been misled on the issue of farmer agitation. Both of them had supported the solidarity of the country by tweeting after tweets by some international celebrities.
Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said in Lok Sabha, “Celebrities like Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar are being misled. Is our country so weak that an 18-year-old is being considered an enemy for speaking out in favour of the opposing farmers. ”
It is noteworthy that environmental activist Greta Thunberg was also among those who supported the peasant movement. However, in her tweet, Greta shared a tool kit.
The Delhi Police has registered a case considering this toolkit as part of the international conspiracy to incite the peasant movement.
The Ministry of External Affairs also started two Twitter hashtags related to solidarity following tweets from international celebrities, which were endorsed by celebrities related to the country’s famous film and cricket.
Chaudhary asked in the Lok Sabha how wrong it is for an environmental activist Greta to speak in favour of the movement and against the government. India has also been raising its voice against any atrocities in the United Nations. Prime Minister Modi himself went to America and gave the slogan ‘Abki bar trump sarkar’. ‘Is it a crime if Greta says something about Delhi? What was the need of the Foreign Ministry and the celebrities to answer that? ‘
The Congress leader also questioned Home Minister Amit Shah. He asked how the government allowed the demolition of the Red Fort. He said that we have intelligence about Pakistan but do not know about what is being planned in the country. This is because the government allowed this to happen.
Chaudhary said that the Prime Minister has time to talk to many people around the world but there is no time for farmers. On behalf of all MPs, he appeals to the Prime Minister to talk to the farmers. He said that the BJP MP himself is also upset on the issue of farmers but he is afraid to put his point.
