Saif Ali Khan attacker Mohammad Islam sent to judicial custody by Mumbai court

Mumbai, January 29: The Bandra Magistrate Court has sent Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, the accused attacker of film actor Saif Ali Khan, to judicial custody for 14 days.

The Bandra police produced the accused in the Bandra court on Wednesday after his police custody ended.

The police told the court that the accused is very clever and had done a recce before committing the crime. The police again sought police custody of the accused today, but the accused’s lawyer said that there is no need to question his client now. Therefore, the accused should be sent to judicial custody.

The judge said that the investigation has been completed, so police custody is no longer needed. If some new facts come to light in the investigation, then police custody can be requested later under the new BNSS law.

According to the police, the accused Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad entered Saif Ali Khan’s residence in Bandra on January 16 and attacked him with a knife. Saif, who was injured in this attack, was treated at Lilavati Hospital. After this, the police arrested the accused from Thane district on January 19.
