New Delhi, 17 February: The Northern Railway (NR) has temporarily paused the sale of platform tickets at New Delhi railway stations to ensure smooth movement of passengers. Platform tickets will not be issued at New Delhi Railway Station between 4 pm and 11 pm for the next one week.
At the same time, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Delhi Police have been deployed at New Delhi Railway Station to control the crowd.
Northern Railway CPRO Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay said on Monday that the sale of platform tickets at New Delhi Railway Station from 4 pm to 11 pm has been suspended for the next one week to control the crowd.
It is worth mentioning that 18 people died and many others were injured due to stampede at New Delhi Railway Station on Saturday.
