Moradabad, March 27: The court on Thursday rejected the interim bail plea of Jama Masjid Intezamia Committee’s president Zafar Ali, who was arrested four days ago in connection with the Sambhal violence in Uttar Pradesh. The next hearing of the case will now be held on April 2.
It is worth mentioning that Violence broke out in Sambhal on November 24 during the second survey of the disputed Shahi Jama Masjid. In this case, the police arrested the Zafar Ali Advocate of the Masjid Intezamia Committee on March 23 and sent him to jail. According to ASP Shrish Chandra, his role was found in the Sambhal violence. He had given an inflammatory statement. Zafar Ali was arrested after this fact came to light in the investigation of the SIT investigating the violence.
District Government Advocate Rahul Dixit said that on Thursday, interim bail and regular bail petitions were filed in the court on behalf of Zafar Ali’s advocates. The court of Additional District Judge (II) Nirbhay Narayan Rai rejected the interim bail plea after hearing. The next hearing of the case has been fixed for April 2.
