Lucknow, May 28: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that people who came to power after independence did not respect Veer Savarkar.

The Chief Minister said that if the Congress had accepted the words of Veer Savarkar, then the country would not have been partitioned. If the leadership at that time had taken a strong will, then the country could have stopped the partition.

The Chief Minister was addressing a program organized on the birth anniversary of Veer Savarkar at Indira Gandhi Pratisthan on Saturday.

On this occasion, Yogi released a book ‘Veer Savarkar’ published by Prabhat Prakashan. This book has been written by Central Information Commissioner Uday Mahurkar and Chirayu Pandit.

Yogi Adityanath said on the occasion of book release that Veer Savarkar did not compromise on values and ideals. For the first time in 1857, a revolutionary had said that this is not a rebellion, it is a freedom struggle fought at one time all over India.

Yogi added, Veer Savarkar was sentenced to two life imprisonments in a single birth. Two brothers are lodged in the same jail. He wrote with nails on the walls. The British were afraid of him.

The Chief Minister said that Veer Savarkar’s property was confiscated to liberate the country. His property was not recovered until 1960. People told him that the country has become independent and your property was not found, then Savarkar said that my fight was not for my ancestral property. Our fight was for the independence of India.

Yogi said that Veer Savarkar had said that my Hindutva is not limited in any narrow circle.

What is the definition of Hindu? Asindhu Sindhuparyanta Yasya Bharat Bhumika without any controversy.

CM Yogi spoke, Savarkar had said that Jinnah’s vision is narrow, he talked only of Muslims.
