Section 144 imposed for a month in North-East Delhi

New Delhi, February 25: There was already apprehension about the violence that took place in north-east Delhi late Monday night. Keeping this in mind, Section 144 was imposed by the Delhi Police in different areas of North East Delhi for one month.

However, roiters continued hooliganism on the roads by declining to obey the order of section 144 in which seven people have died so far. Police have appealed to the people to maintain peace and tranquility and with this instructions that if anyone violates Section 144, then stringent action will be taken against them.

An order in this regard has been issued by Ved Prakash Surya, DCP, North Eastern District. In this order issued on Monday, he has said that due to the manner in which people are demonstrating in the North Eastern district, law and order is deteriorating.

Apart from this, traffic is also getting disrupted. People demonstrated  here without seeking permission. It has also been seen that anti-social elements are being added to it. Keeping this in mind, section 144 is being imposed in the district for the safety of the people.

These instructions have been given in the order

After Section 144, no one can walk in this district with weapons, baton, torch. Four and more people will not be allowed to gather together. Strict action will also be taken against those who distribute leaflets or spread such talk on social media for the purpose of provoking people. The order will continue from February 24 to March 24.

Seven people have died so far in the violence

According to Delhi Police, 7 people have died so far in the violence on Monday. The condition of about a dozen people remains critical. More than 100 people have been injured in the said incident, whose treatment are being done in the hospital. The condition of DCP Amit Sharma who was injured in this incident is said to be better than before.
